Inmate Education (1997)

An overview of inmate education in the federal penitentiary system. The unique needs of inmate students are discussed and the characteristics of effective correctional education programs are detailed. The impact of prison education on recidivism rates is explored and public influ ence in shaping Canadian corrections policy on education is discussed.
